One or more lamps fail to light:

Lamps fail to light:
  1. Check the source of AC power. Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse if necessary.
  2. Make sure the unit is plugged into outlet.
  3. Make sure canopy to bench cord is properly connected.
Gas springs are not working properly:
  1. Raise and lower the canopy a few times to lubricate the gas spring internal seals.
  2. Tighten the hinge bolts to create friction.
  3. If the lid will not stay open, slightly raise the front of the tanning bed (with about a 1/2 inch shim), if the lid will not stay closed, slightly raise the back of the tanning bed (with about a 1/2 inch shim).
Tanning FAQ's

How long does it take to get a tan?

A: Everyone's tanning results depends on their individual skin type. People with darker skin generally see results faster than people with lighter skin. You should receive your maximum tan in 4 to 5 weeks. If you do not tan normally in the sun then you will not see a tan from a tanning bed.

Will a larger tanning bed give me a better tan?

A: The lamps on a larger tanning bed are typically spaced closer together which will result in a more even tan. The FDA, however, regulates how much UV output a tanning bed can give therefore allowing shorter tanning sessions. You will get a more even tan in a faster time with a larger bed, but the smaller beds still will work just as well.

Can I tan every day?

A: It is not recommended to tan more than every other day when getting your base tan. After your base tan has been established, you can tan every day if you desire. You can maintain your tan with tanning once or twice a week.

Why do I need to wear eyewear?

A: Your eyelids are not sufficient enough to protect your eyes from UV exposure and can become damaged very quickly.

When will I need to replace my lamps?

A: You should replace your lamps after 700 to 1000 hours of usage.

What kind of lamps do I need for my bed?

A: The lamps your tanning bed will need for your bed is listed on the safety wording directly on your unit and in your manual. These lamps are the only lamps guaranteed to give you the best results with your unit. Make sure you consult a qualified sales rep to purchase the correct lamps.

General Maintenance

Disinfecting and cleaning your tanning bed after each use is important especially when multiple people, like in a salon situation are using the tanning bed. Be sure to wipe down everywhere a person touches to include the acrylic shield, timer knob, and pillow. Be sure to use a disinfectant cleaner that does not contain ammonia or derivatives as this can damage your acrylic.

Periodically you will need to clean the inside of your unit as the cooling fans can pull in dust, pet hair, laundry lint, carpet fibers, etc. which can collect on the lamps and block the UV rays from tanning you. Remove the acrylic shields and/or wire grids and wipe down each bulb, reflectors, both sides of the acrylic shield and/or wire grid and if possible the fan blades. See your owner's manual for more cleaning instructions.

Be sure to check your bed occasionally (about every 400 to 500 hours) to make sure all nuts, bolts, and fasteners are secure. Also pay close attention to any points of movement, especially hinges and gas springs.

Your lamps will need to be replaced every 700 to 1000 hours. Check your user manual or safety wording on your bed for the correct lamps.
